Formed in 1992 by John Conti as a specialist commercial law firm, the Practice rapidly grew to the successful firm it is today. Harnessing the skills of experienced individuals, a first class service with true professionalism and independence are the essential qualities of the firm.

Practice Areas

Civil and Commercial Litigation

• The firm has been involved in large complex international cases since its establishment in 1992 and continues to develop this core area successfully. While the firm is fully capable of pursuing cases to the highest court negotiation from strength of a favourable settlement is almost always the best outcome for clients.

• Major areas of litigation include trusts (interpretation, breaches of trust, trustee appointments), offshore companies (ownership, liquidations, receivership, regulation and FSC licences), asset tracing (mareva injunctions, anton pillar orders, investigating and co-ordinating simultaneous multi-jurisdictional freezing of assets) and judical review.

• Other areas of specialism include personal injury claims and debt recovery.

International Mergers, Acquisitions, Management Buy-outs and Corporate Finance

• Despite being a small firm we work with the largest international firms on the offshore elements of such deals.

Commercial, Banking, Shipping, Insurance and Financial Services

• Years of experience with large corporate clients ensures a full service is provided tailored to the client's individual needs. We draft advise upon and provide legal opinions in respect of all types of security documentation for banks companies trusts and individuals.

Offshore Companies, Trusts and Tax Planning

• A unique offshore location offers endless opportunities for corporate and personal tax planning. Although based in the Isle of Man our knowledge of worldwide offshore/onshore financial centres enables us to design the most efficient solution. We can also assist in tax planning for re-location, immigration and emigration for corporates, individuals and families.

• Due to confidentiality and conflict of interest concerns we do not hold a Fiduciary Service Provider Licence and consequently do not offer a formation and administration service though paradoxically we do advise upon and draft all legal documentation required. Wills and Probate

• The firm offers a comprehensive wills service - from the most simple local wills to the most complex international wills. For further information please see our "Will" section. Probate of local wills or international wills covering Isle of Man assets or intestate estates are all catered for with our customary speed and efficiency.

Property

• The firm offers commercial and residential conveyancing services at competitive prices. Email requests for quotes should include the following - price, type of property (house/flat), existing/require mortgage & provider + (for purchases only) property address and date the seller acquired it

The Practice is unusual in that no matrimonial, criminal or legal aid work is undertaken.
